FAQs
How Do I Commission a Piece?
Once the specifics are discussed via email or phone, I will create a drawing of the piece. (Please note that for detailed renderings, there is a non refundable $100 fee, applicable to the total price of the piece.) Once the design and price are agreed upon, then a 50% deposit (minus the $100 rendering fee) is required to begin work with the remaining 50%, shipping charges, and any applicable sales tax due upon completion. Turn around time for such pieces is from 4-6 weeks.
I will make every effort to work with you on your one-of-a-kind commission. It will be a unique collaboration based on your needs and desires but done in the style of the work on this site.
I Want to Buy a Piece, but You are Sold Out. How Can I Buy?
My collections are comprised of one-of-a-kind pieces. Once the pieces are sold, they will not be made again. However, I sometimes recreate a version of a piece later and often create new pieces around the same look and theme.
If there's a particular piece that speaks to you and it is sold out, please contact me to inquire about a similar piece , not everything in inventory is on the website.
Sign up for my email list and follow me on Instagram and Facebook to be notified when new pieces are available.
Where Do You Ship To?
Due to shipping and tracking difficulties during COVID-19, I am currently only shipping to the United States. Thank you for your understanding and I apologize for the inconvenience.
If you are located outside of the USA, please contact me for further information.
How Long Does Shipping Take?
It usually takes me 2 business days to pack and prepare your order. I ship via USPS Priority Mail from Santa Fe, New Mexico, which takes anywhere from 1-4 days, depending on where you live.
What is Your Return Policy?
If a piece is custom made to order, then sales are final.
You may exchange a piece from the web site for credit toward another purchase under these guidelines: You must contact me to request an exchange, and ship the item within 14 days from date of purchase. No exceptions. Item must be returned in original condition or else a 50% restocking fee will apply.
I reserve the right to refuse any return that is not in resale condition. Credit for returned merchandise will be extended for one year from date of original purchase. Shipping cost is non-refundable.
If there is a return due to my error, shipping charges will be refunded.
Any inquiries about exchanges can be sent to: annette@adorengstearns.art
What Material Are Your Pieces Made Of?
All silver in my jewelry is solid, not filled or plated, and is either made of .925 sterling silver, or .999 fine silver.
When I include gold elements in my metalwork such as gold bezels, earwires, or other design details, I indicate the purity of the gold within the item description.
I also often also use alloys such as solid brass and bronze in my work, which will be indicated in the item description.
How Do I Care For My Jewelry?
For Silver Pieces
Avoid contact with lotions and perfumes. Store in an airtight environment if possible (such as a small polypropylene zip top bag) or anti-tarnish pouch. Swimming or bathing while wearing silver jewelry can dull its finish over time. Exposure to cleaning chemicals such as bleach can create dark spots in silver that must be professionally removed.
For Pieces with Stones
Do not swim, shower or bathe when wearing a piece with a stone. Do not use abrasives, scrub pads, jewelry cleaning cloths or jewelry cleaning chemicals as this can damage the stone. Avoid exposing the stone to lotions and perfumes as this can permanently and undesirably alter the appearance of some stones.
